D&B offers exciting career opportunities and we are currently hiring a Predictive Analytics Statistician for our Short Hills, NJ location.
As a Predictive Analytics Statistician on the Global Data Insights & Analytics team, your primary focus will be on
Drives the research and recommended solutions to complex business issues; makes recommendations on model inputs and end products. Serves as a subject matter expert on predictive models within own group and with business users; consults with the business, as appropriate, on predictive modeling solutions.
Develop, implement and manage holistic strategies for modeling (design, development, validation, calibration, documentation, approval, implementation, monitoring and reporting), in collaboration with Risk Modeling Leader
Conduct analytics to validate the performance of existing quantitative risk models, recommend changes, and lead development of predictive models.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders
Develop a solid working knowledge of how current systems and data sources are used in existing predictive modeling projects. Drive timely retrieval of risk analytics data from existing system to create algorithms that meet business needs.
Collaborate with Underwriting, Actuarial, and Underwriting Services to define projects.
Basic Requirements:
Master degree in Risk related field (Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Math/Stat, Operations Research, etc. with Quantitative underpinning) with 3
years of relevant risk model building experience.
Strong business acumen, especially in Financial Services Industry Experience in underwriting, risk, statistical modeling roles.
Demonstrated strong expertise with at least one statistical modeling language/utility SAS (or equivalent) proficiency and expertise building and implementing routines for data transformation.
Demonstrated strong SQL skills and experience.
Generate modeling variables based on univariate and bivariate analysis.
A willingness to travel to client locations as needed
Support business requests which require statistical analysis.
Client consulting skills including ability to build relationships with clients, potentially with C-level executives
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical data analysis results to business people and business processes, challenges and issues to technical people
Strong knowledge of MS office tools, and data mining tools (Access, SQL, BO, SAS, etc.)
Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience working with very large datasets
Background and experience in consumer or commercial risk models
Ability to communicate effectively and influence others
Business experience and knowledge of P&C industry preferred.
